"Walking in the Light of the Two Roads"

Canku Numpa team operates within the federal justice system, ensuring that our Relatives are connected to their tradition and culture while promoting progress and systemic changes.

About

The Canku Numpa team is guided by an interwoven circle of Elders, Knowledge Keepers, Elder Helpers and Pathfinder. We are grounded in tradition and culture, creating a supportive and safe space where relatives are seen, heard, and honoured.

We walk alongside relatives at every stage of their journey, taking our direction from their lived experience and strengths. Through shared teachings, cultural connection, traditional ceremonies, and peer-led support, we offer opportunities for healing, growth, and belonging.

Our work is rooted in restoring balance, strengthening emotional wellness, uplifting identity and spirit, connecting to ceremony, and supporting relatives as they prepare for meaningful reintegration beyond the institution. Together, we honour the wisdom of the land, the power of tradition and culture, and the resilience within each relative.
